Week 4 - another one bites the dust.

Well another week has come and gone ... man how time fly's when you are having fun.  The children are getting the hang of Study ladder.  This is an educational website where I as their teacher can set tasks that relate back to what we are doing in class.  As they show that they are getting the hang of logging in and focus on completing the tasks set they will start bringing home their passwords so you can see what they are doing for yourself.  I have included a link to this website on the side-panel of this blog to make this process easier.

I have to say another WOWWWWWWWW!!!! for the spelling this week be had 23 children at school on Friday when we were testing and 22 of them got 100%  The other child got 1 wrong ... We must all be doing something right I think ... Lets keep it up.

The children have also been working hard to complete their half photo/self portrait art and I must say I am soooooo proud of all their efforts they look fantastic.  Can't wait to take some photos to share with you here. They are also working on some BFG pictures to go with some descriptions they have writing this week.  So feel free to pop in and have a look.

Week 3 - done and dusted ... What a busy one!

What a busy week we have had, but wasn't it FUN!  

Spelling started again this week.  At the moment the children are reviewing a few words from previous lists (based on testing we have completed in week 1/2).  Well done to all those who got 100% on your spelling... Ryan, Max, Tae, Lukas, Kate, Jessica, Mia, Willow, Cyprus, Lani, Mikara, Amelia, Jayden & Tylah.  That's over half of our class !!! WOWWWWW!!!  Lets keep it up and go for everyone in the whole class with 100%.  Parents I have put an incentive on spelling as well that when the children have achieved 10 weeks of 100% then they will be able to get a prize ... - as yet I still need to get these prizes but I still have a few weeks to sort this out :-)  but I figure if they can get to 10 weeks of 100% they definitely deserve something!

Chrome book launch

Today was the day of the Chrome book party.  Boy were the kids excited (and for good reason).  Room 7 was very lucky to receive the seniors old Netbooks which means we will be able to start our digital journey as well.  Take a look at a few photos!!!

Week 2 - another short one.

Was nice to have another short one.  I hope everyone enjoyed their Waitangi Day.

Party Party Party!

The children in room 4/7 have been working hard on their statistics maths unit.  They have been completing identifying questions to complete investigations on, identifying categories, making and completing tally charts, and of course interpret the information they have been finding out.  Soon they will be completing group projects based around the idea of a PARTY!!!  So watch this space.

CATERPILLARS,   CHRYSALIS     &   BUTTERFLIES . . .

Room 7 has been enjoying watching the caterpillars develop and change.  We now have 2 chrysalis hanging in our classroom as they have been very diligent in bringing these in when they have noticed them on the ground ... watch this space and see if either of them hatch.
